Major Landmarks in Florence Italy
Throughout the city of Ital there are a variety of landmarks for one to see in this popular tourist attraction. Maybe the most famous of all is the Piazzale Michelangelo which is located on a hillside that overlooks the entire city. There is a replica of the State of David in the middle of the plaza for all to enjoy. Arguing to be the famous landmark of all is The Duomo which is a cathedral and the tallest building in the city.

This cathedral was finished in 1463 and its dome was considered the largest in the world. The Duomo is located in the heart of the city giving a wonderful accesss point to other travels. Next door to The Duomo is the Gitotto’s Tower which is a right next door and one can climb the steps and enjoy the view from the city 85 meters up above it.
There are many more places that one must visit once in Florence. These include but are not limited to the Palazzo Vecchio, Arno River, Santa Croce Church, and Ponte Delle Grazie. Make sure to visit the Santa Croce Church as this is the final resting place for Florence’s favorite sons including Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavellli. With the abundance of sites to see you will be busy for no matter how long you visit.
