When traveling for business to Italy there a few things that you should look out for. Most travelers will fly into one of the major airports in Italy. There are actually 133 different airports in Italy with the major airlines being based in Milan, and Rome. Many times it is easier to fly into one of these cities and then grab a train to the outer cities depending on where your business needs to take part.
Italys major trade partners are Germany, France, USA, Spain,and the UK. For travelers from Germany, France, Spain and the UK there are a variety of night trains that get you to Italy at a cheaper price than air travel can be. Renting a car can be done in the major cities but for people who are not familiar each city it can be difficult to get around. Once inside the country the you will be able to use the Euro as Italy is part of the European Union. This is very convenient for much of Europe.
Business hotels are easily found in Milan, Rome, and Turin while in other cities most of the hotels cater more to tourism. Make sure if you are doing business with government officially to make an appointment also, as many public offices close early.
